Commercial Cattle

Hayes Ranch raises premium commercial cattle, using our registered genetics to provide the benefit of Simmental, Angus, and SimAngus cattle for commercial cattlemen. Each fall we sell groups of these grass-fed calves, all of which are free of antibiotics and hormones of any kind.

We currently winter at our ranch in Wilsall, Montana and summer in the nearby Bridger Mountains. Our cows are wintered and summered in the same manner regardless of whether they are registered, a recipient cow carrying an embryo, or a commercial cow naturally bred to one of our outstanding bulls. This ensures that we always keep functional cows in a real world environment. 

The calves are certified by Frontier as *All Natural* and are Age and Source Verified through Verified Beef, a USDA approved third-party certifying agency, in order to easily allow export to many areas outside the United States.  Finally, all of our calves are preconditioned using Pfizer's SelectVAC program.

We raise our commercial calves the right way – on grass, without hormones and antibiotics. We move cattle, conduct health checks, and complete pasture rotations on horseback so that the calves will be easier for you to work and – all the while – leave the pounds on the calf. Finally, we work the calves humanely and quietly, whether on horseback or in the chute.
